Question 1

Talk me through it, how does selling actually work?

Accepted Answer

You describe the watch once, add photographs, and choose how long you'd like the bidding to run. From there it's out of your hands: our panel of UK dealers looks at the submission privately and comes back with sealed bids, usually inside 48 hours. Then you decide. Accepting is entirely optional.

Question 2

Who's on the other end of these bids?

Accepted Answer

Established UK dealers, every one of them checked by us before they're let near a listing. There are no anonymous private buyers, no overseas chancers, no 'my cousin will collect it tonight'.

Question 3

Which brands do you take?

Accepted Answer

The Swiss names you'd expect, Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Omega, Cartier, Vacheron Constantin, Richard Mille, A. Lange & Söhne, plus a good deal beyond them. If you're not sure whether yours qualifies, submit it and let the dealers decide.

Question 4

So what does it cost me?

Accepted Answer

Nothing to submit, nothing to receive bids. The only charge is a single unlock fee when you're ready to see who's bidding: 1.9% of the average bid, floored at £25 and capped at £200.

Question 5

What am I actually buying with that fee?

Accepted Answer

The reveal. Before you pay, you can see how many dealers have bid; afterwards you see their names, company details, ratings and exact offers. It's charged once, and only at the point you ask for it.

Question 6

Is the fee capped at both ends?

Accepted Answer

It is. Below £25 the percentage rounds up to the floor; above £200 it stops dead at the ceiling. A £1,000 watch and a £50,000 watch cost £25 and £200 respectively, the work at our end is much the same.

Question 7

Is anything added to the price?

Accepted Answer

Nothing is added. The price shown is the total you pay. The calculator on our pricing page shows the exact fee before you commit.

Question 8

And if I don't like any of the offers?

Accepted Answer

You decline them and get on with your day. The listing archives itself, the watch stays with you, nothing further is charged and nobody rings you up to ask why.

Question 9

When does money change hands?

Accepted Answer

At one point only, the moment you choose to unlock. Everything before that is free, including the bidding itself.

Question 10

Which payment methods do you take?

Accepted Answer

Visa, Mastercard and Amex, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link. Checkout runs through Stripe's encrypted page, so your card details never touch our systems.

Question 11

Anything lurking in the small print?

Accepted Answer

Nothing. No sale commission, no listing charge, no photography or insurance fee, no processing surcharge. One unlock fee, and only if you unlock.

Question 12

Once I've unlocked, am I committed?

Accepted Answer

Not in the slightest. Unlocking shows you who bid and what they offered, that's all it does. Walk away if the numbers disappoint and there's nothing more to pay.

Question 13

Can I get the unlock fee back?

Accepted Answer

Once you've seen the bidders, no, the information can't be un-seen. If a payment fails, or nobody bid on your submission in the first place, you aren't charged at all.

Question 14

How long do offers stand?

Accepted Answer

Seven days from the moment a dealer places one. We'll nudge you by email before anything lapses, so a good offer shouldn't quietly expire on you.

Question 15

I've accepted a bid. What now?

Accepted Answer

The dealer hears about it within seconds and gets your contact details. They'll be in touch to arrange fully insured courier collection or a handover in person, and to confirm payment by bank transfer once the watch is in their hands.

Question 16

What about the dealers who didn't win?

Accepted Answer

They're told the submission has closed and their offers lapse. Your contact details are never passed to them at any stage.

Question 17

Do I get to rate the dealer afterwards?

Accepted Answer

Please do. Once the watch has gone and the money has landed, open 'My submissions' and mark it sold. Your one-to-five star rating goes on the dealer's public profile, which is precisely how the next seller decides who to trust.

Question 18

What does the platform cost a dealer?

Accepted Answer

Not a penny. No subscription, no listing charge, no commission when you win. The seller pays a small unlock fee at their end and your margin stays entirely yours.

Question 19

How do I get onto the panel?

Accepted Answer

Fill in the dealer application and we'll look at your trading history and references. Two to three working days is typical for a decision.

Question 20

Explain the sealed bidding.

Accepted Answer

You put in your genuine best number, blind. Nobody else can see it and you can't see theirs. It keeps the whole thing away from the tit-for-tat undercutting that ruins margins on open marketplaces.

Question 21

When does the seller find out who I am?

Accepted Answer

Your figure is visible to them straight away; your name, company and rating stay hidden until they pay to unlock the offers. Plenty of bids are compared before anyone knows who placed them.

Question 22

My bid wins, then what?

Accepted Answer

We introduce the two of you by email with full contact details and step out of the way. Collection, payment and paperwork are yours to arrange directly with the seller.

Question 23

And if it doesn't win?

Accepted Answer

You'll be told, the bid is archived, and the seller's details never reach you.

Question 24

How long is the bidding window?

Accepted Answer

The seller picks three, seven or fourteen days. You can place, raise or revise your bid right up until it closes.

Question 25

Do the seller ratings matter?

Accepted Answer

They do. Sellers score you out of five after a completed deal, and a strong record lifts you in future bid summaries. Deal well and it compounds.

Question 26

How much detail comes with a submission?

Accepted Answer

Photographs, condition notes, box and papers status, provenance and history, collected up front so your time goes on pricing rather than chasing the seller for basics.

Question 27

Can I bid on everything?

Accepted Answer

Every live submission is on your dashboard, filterable by brand, model, price bracket and condition. Bid on what fits your stock and ignore the rest.
